Day Twenty-Eight:: Life Lessons that I Learned in a Swimming Pool

So this will seem completely unrelated to London, but I need to talk about swimming for a moment.  I started swimming when I was eleven I believe and I swam all the way through my senior year of high school.  It was the best thing to have happened to me, and without my swimming experience I would be clueless and miserable.  Here is my evidence:

  • I learned to be okay walking around in just a towel around girls
  • I learned to get dressed and undressed in public spaces without exposing myself at all (yep I could go from underwear and bra to swimsuit in an open area without using a towel as a shield)
  • It got me into swim lessons, which funded my trip here
  • It got me into swim lessons, which has taught me how to deal with kids, which is very handy when I am helping in the Nursery at church here
  • It helped me realize that people actually like me and want to be my friend (I can't stress how big of a deal that one is)
  • It taught me that it's best to go through life with the intent of having fun as my primary objective.
  • and lastly I got to see lost of shirtless boys, so I now can keep my composure when I cross paths with those boys that have selected to not wear a top.
Basically I liked swim team and I learned lots of valuable things and I still use those valuable things.

Go swim team,
Kelsie
