Well it's been forty-four days and I believe that I have a pretty good handle on the sweets that I have found in the plethora of grocery stores. I have gone to them all and I am here to give you the skinny (haha these won't make you skinny) on the best grocery store treats in this great city. Brace yourself as there will be a great abundance of great stock photos.
DIGESTIVES. Don't ask about the name, as I have no idea why that is what they were chosen to be called, and as far as nI can tell they are not a wonderful tasting laxative. They are a sweet biscuit (in America it would probably be considered more of a cookie) that is often coated in CHOCOLATE (please think of that Spongebob episode where he and Patrick sell chocolates and the crazy guy keeps chasing them yelling CHOCOLATE right now) and sometimes caramel.
MADEIRA CAKE. I think that this is traditionally a cake you have with your tea. For me it's how I celebrate the weekend (and sometimes the weekdays). I legit buy this as a packaged slice of cake from Tesco. I have sunk to a new low and I regret it not! My life has been enlightened by the glory that this processed piece of confectionary has brought. It has raspberry filling though and I cannot resist anything raspberry (in my defense).
MAOAMS. If things don't work out with my boyfriend that I found yesterday at King's Cross than I will be fine marrying Maoams. Seriously heaven. They are kinda like Laffy-Taffys, but better and they don't have that nasty banana flavor, so you can get an assortment and not have to avoid the yellow like the plague (haha the plague took place here in England, so that is like two times as funny). I plan to print home an entire suitcase of these. Mom and Dad, please pack accordingly so that can be fulfilled.
SWEET dreams,
Kelsie
