Day Thirty-Four:: Buckingham Palace (kinda)

This morning we set out to Buckingham Palace to witness the Changing of the Guard.  This was the most touristy thing I have attempted to do while here.  I hate tourists.  I can say that because I am like an elevated tourist, a weird hybrid of a tourist and a transplanted local.  Tourists though, they are loud and inconsiderate and they wave their umbrellas around not thinking about those that they are stabbing with the small and pointy supports and dumping the water onto.  Tourists yell in their native languages and it scares me and tourists attract pickpocketers and I have a very good reason to not like that type of environment.

Note to you all: if you do find yourself as a tourist in London, be considerate of those around you, and if you go to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (which you should), get there early if you want to be able to see anything.  I was not there early enough, and as I result I gained nothing from the experience except for an increased amount of anxiety. I don't need anymore anxiety in my life, so the trip was not of much value to me.  I will be returning though.

Every once in a while (okay so like every three days) I come to the realization that I live in London.  And not only do I live in London, I live in one of the nicest areas in London.  Like what is my life???? I can walk 5ish minutes and I am at Kensington Palace, were Will and Kate live.  And a 20 minute bus ride puts me at Buckingham Palace and I can take the tube to Big Ben with a moment of preparation.  I had my most recent realization while on a walk with two of my friends in Hyde Park (while I live across the street from) today.  LIKE SERIOUSLY IS THIS MY REAL LIFE????
Have a good real of your weekend,
Kelsie
