Day Thirty-Nine:: Abbey Road

I quite enjoy donating blood (no that has nothing to do with Abbey Road), not in a weird emo disturbed child way, but I bleed really fast and the lack of a pint of blood doesn't phase me.. In fact I will tell you a story to illustrate my point.  One day  I donated blood at eight in the evening, went to Breaking Dawn Part Two at midnight, and then swam at an all-day long swim meet.  Nobody would have known, and I think that I swam pretty well too.  Point made?

So yesterday, Madi Shupe (I love her by the way) and I made a pit stop at the church on our way home.  We got talking to the sister senior missionary and I figured out that there would be a blood drive today and I decided that if I was eligible to donate then I would!

I was eligible, so after class I donated blood.  It didn't phase me, but I drake so much water while waiting that by the time I was finishing bleeding out I desperately needed to pee.  Apparently they have to accompany you to the toilets and you are not allowed to lock the door "in case you get sick" I wanted to be like lady I am fine, like you obviously don't know me, but I didn't, and like I was a five year old that couldn't figure out how to lock the stall, she held the door closed for me.  I do not recommend.

But one of the main reasons I donate is the free food.  People have not yet figured out this major advantage, and as everything is so expensive here I stocked up, sneaking extra digestives and custard cremes into my backpack to have for later as a chowed down on potato crisps.

I ventured back through the wind to my flat where I was greeted by almost everybody in the flat waiting for me so we all could to to Abbey Road together!! So nice, but I remember that the last time people waited on me like that is the day I was robbed of my wallet, it was a PTSD nightmare (note: I am not actually currently suffering from PTSD and I apologize to anyone that could be offended by that lighthearted, good-intention joke).

Sooooo we went to Abbey Road!!

Here's the beautiful group of girls that waited for me like real life sweethearts
(because that's what they are).  Black is really trendy right now in outerwear I guess.

So here's an explanation for the above photo. At Abbey Road, there is that lovely white wall/fence thing, and because we as humans for some reason are terrified of oblivion and wasting away and not leaving our mark, they have gone to a bunch of trouble to make sure that someone sees their mark.  It's totally normal and the more I think about it the more poetic that it gets.  But of course we had to participate.  I get really worked up about these things though.  Like this is what the visitors of Abbey Road are going to take from me, this is what they will know me by, what can I possibly write that is perfect enough to capture how amazing I am? But I decided on LET GO.  It's @additakofficial and my motto for the time being, and it seems like a cute cheesy thing that a white girl would get tattooed on her wrist so she could see it every time she took a sip of her overpriced caramel macchiato from Starbucks.  But seriously it's so much more to us and I am not gonna explain it because it's our thing and also because I am lazy and I fear it would take a long time.  But yeah, let go.

Love,
Kelsie
