Day Fifty-Five:: Houses of Parliament/Nandos

There were a handful of things that I was super excited to see/do when I was preparing to come to London.  Seeing the interior of the Houses of Parliament was far down on the list.  But I was able to do it today and I fully realize how lucky I am that I was able to see so many GORGEOUS ceilings.  Howerer, images of those ceilings will not be in my coffee table book of ceilings, as photography was not allowed.  Seriously though, why are tourist locations still not allowing photography? Like I just want to share it's beauty with the world.  I am like free advertising! I mean this blog has an international audience (that may or may not be because of my mother, who obviously is looking at this from America).  They were nice and did let us take pictures in Westminster Hall, which basically was like the world's largest and oldest refrigerator (simply put, it was a big, open room with stone walls and no source of heat).

 Walking around in a big circle around in central London was also far down the "omg I have to do these things while in London" list, but I can now say I have done it and that's cool I guess.  I do wish that I did not have to do it on a day when I was sick, as being sick at home sucks, being sick while in London and you are away from your family sicks even more, and being sick while in London without your family and while walking around in a big circle is the most unpleasant of them all.  But I endured and am now a better person for it!!!!!! Here are pictures.

Seeing the Churchill War Rooms wasn't high on that earlier mentioned list, and I actually didn't know what they were until we watched an enlightening introductory video.  So apparently like London was being bombed during WWII (shocking right?) and it a series of unfortunate events, the prime minister had to move his war operations to this underground bunker thing.  That is what we saw.  It was cooler that I expected, but at the same time I didn't really have any expectations.

So what was high on my list of things to do while in London? You are probably dying to know by now, so I will share one of the things near the top of the list.  You see, I am a very devoted One Direction fan, and we 1D fans are all too versed with how important Nando's was to those boys, especially as younger versions.  I have no idea how it has taken me so long to finally get my butt in a chair at the glorious restaurant, but today I finally checked that off the top portion of my "to do in London" list.  I can for sure say it is worth the hype and I really like it there.  I will be back, you've been warned Nando's.

I learned to play Mafia today.  I am severely underexposed and it continues to cause embarrassment on a nearly day to day basis.  I am overcoming it though, one day at a time.

Until next time,
Kelsie
