Day Twelve:: SPONTANEITY!!

Being spontaneous was never a thing that I have excelled in.  In fact I think that have basically despised it.  I need to know when I wake up what I will do that day.  I need to know what to wear, what to eat and when to eat, and all the other details of an excessive planner. If I didn't have plans by that point I was not going to try and find some, I was going to be comfortable in my bed in my running shorts and t-shirt while watching a television show provided my the almighty Netflix.

I am loosening up though, and I am trying to be completely comfortable with walking out the front door in the morning, not completely knowing what I will do for the day.  If I do not accomplish that by the end of this semster I will march to the study abroad office in Provo and demand I receive at least 1/8 of the money I gave them for this trip to be returned to my suffering bank account.

Today I did not have evening plans, but I tagged on with a group that was going to check out Trafalger Square.  Did you know that the National Gallery is the backdrop for the square? Like the square is jsut to prepare you for what is within the walls of that beautiful classical building.  In another moment of spontaneity we entered the gallery.  BEST DECISION EVER.

I was soon surrounded by works from my favorite artists including Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Manet, Seurat, and Degas.  But nothing will compare to the feeling that I felt when I came across four paintings by my favorite artist ever: Jackson Mallord William Turner.  I have never seen one of his works in person, but there I was, completely unexpectedly in front of the canvases that Turner himself filled with paint.  LIKE WHAT IF I HAD STAYED AT HOME BECAUSE THAT WASN'T ON MY AGENDA??? I still think that I am smiling, I mean I saw Van Gogh's Chair, and Seurat's Bathers at Asnineres, and The Japanese Bridge by Monet.

Then I realize that I live in a city that I can do that, just randomly end up looking at such masterpieces. HOLY CRAP THAT'S AMAZING.
Woah! It's Trafalgar Square!!!

There she is: the almighty National Gallery

First today we walked along the Thames River.  It was pretty cool I guess.  I made some pretty decent new friends.  I like them.  They are pretty and nice and those that very important characteristics to have if you want to be successful.

It's so convenient that they provide us tourists with these signs to pose next to

Here I am posing with one of my biggest fans, Savannah

Southwark Cathedral (there are lots of cathedrals here, brace yourselves

The Globe Theater, as in Shakespeare's Globe theater.  It was honestly a let down.
So I guess, you should all try and be more spontaneous, like maybe you will end up doing something cool.
