I am gonna be honest with you. This study abroad is requiring a lot of work. Between schoolwork and the day trips that we go on and the required sightseeing walks and actually going to class and going to church and the callings we have for church and grocery shopping and trying to go out and see London with my friends I am exhausted. My mom told me that I can sleep when I get back, but I don't think that I can wait that long.
That is why I am grateful for Sundays. It's (pretty) chill. I have time to take a nap and I get to have a nice and ling FaceTime session with my family. But Sundays have their downsides. I tend to miss my family five times more that I usually do (and I miss them a lot normally), and the thought of all the things that I have to do in the coming week gets to be a bit overwhelming. For that I unfortunately have no adventures to recount to you from today, but I do need everyone to know that I have an amazing family. I miss then enough that I am going to tell everyone about them. (Yes I know that this is supposedly a travel blog, but being homesick is a part of traveling, so deal with it okay?)
My dad is awesome to hear stories from. I love it when I get to hear little things about growing up in a small town from him. He is also amazingly willing to help me learn life lessons, and he has taught me so many important things.
My mom is always there for me, even answering FaceTime calls while she's driving and just leaving the phone on the center console so she can talk as if it was just speakerphone and fitting me into every spare moment she has. She is extremely supportive and helps me do things like think of healthy meal ideas.
Riley has been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and I am so upset that I have had to miss the end of her senior swim season. I can send her totally random and (hopefully) funny text messages and she just plays along with it.
Auston rocks. He has such an amazing sense of identity and he is so comfortable with himself. If I had that confidence when I was in the 7th grade (as he is) I would have been unstoppable. He is also very mature. We can actually sit down and have a good conversation, something that I would believe to be rare between a nineteen year old girl and a 13 year old boy.
Ellie and I had just started getting really close right before we left and it sucks that I had to leave then. She is one of the most creative people this earth has seen (I would bet). She is constantly thinking of dozens of uses for the piece of cardboard that just came home, mainly those ideas involve her American Girl doll.
Sorry that had nothing to do with London,
Kelsie
